Tommy Washington Catches Record Salmon
Tommy Washington caught these two Lake Michigan specimens fishing out of Frankfort on the morning of August 13, 2018. They came on Green Dolphin Spoons fishing in 200' of water with down-riggers. The Weight of the 26.65 ponder was verified by DNR and is being considered for Master Angler which results are tabulated in December and announced in January. Each year during July/August Tommy fishes this year extensively and definitely paid off this year. Earlier in the year Tommy usually fishes for walleye and one of the founding members of the Academic Angler/ Simba yearly silver bass teenage mentoring activity.
Consider Local Overnight Fishing Trips
Rochester Hills, Mi - For years I've suffered the same frustrations that, no doubt, plague many weekend anglers, namely, disappointing results from trying to do too much in a short amount of time. The routine is usually the same.
- Spend all week anticipating the Saturday morning trip
- Up a little late Friday night getting the equipment just perfect
- Off to bed a little late but still can't sleep thinking about the trip
- Wake up early enough Saturday morning to make the 50 mile plus trip and still take advantage of the early morning bite in my favorite spot

Academic Angler Speaks to Youth
Melbourne Florida — March 21 — Dr. Charlie Roberts, the president of the Academic Anglers Fishing Team, was the keynote speaker for the 33rd Annual Appreciation Banquet of the Lipscomb Street Regional Park Association.
In his message, Dr. Roberts urged the association to continue their efforts in making a difference in the lives of the children of the Lipscomb Community. He noted their accomplishments in the renovation of the community center, the new ball fields with lights, the basketball court with lights, the pavilion between the lakes and the ball fields, the fitness trail, the new playground equipment, the new landscaping and many more improvements. He not only commended them for their accomplishments but suggested that they not only continue MAKING A DIFFERENCE but to CREATE MEMORIES.
